Are you passionate about making healthcare better for children, youth, families, and caregivers? Join us at Kids Come First, where we believe in the power of "Nothing about us without us."
Kids Come First knows how important it is to work closely with children, youth, families, and caregivers to make their healthcare experiences better and improve the healthcare system.
This might be a good fit for you if…
- You or your child have used services for physical, mental, or developmental health. This could be:
- Complex medical care services
- Mental health services
- Addictions or substance use health services
- Hospital or community-based services
- Home care
- Public healthcare
- You want to help make healthcare better through engagement, co-design, and leadership by giving your time, once a month or more
- You feel your mental well-being and ability to engage in discussions is at a place where you will not become overwhelmed or triggered by the topics being discussed or addressed
What you will do:
- Bring a voice from your community
- Give your feedback on Kids Come First programs, processes, and policies with a goal to improve the experiences for children, youth and families
- Share your ideas to help solve health-related problems
- Help Design and lead new projects
- Stay informed about child and youth health issues and trends
- Take on a leadership role such as chairing or facilitating meetings
