Medical Complexity

As of September 20, 2021, and on behalf of the Kids Come First Health Team, CHEO is responsible for overseeing and delivering local pediatric home care services and staff in the Champlain region. This is a key priority of the Kids Come First plan that was approved by the Ministry of Health in December 2019. Kids Come First is excited to be taking this step toward a system of pediatric health care truly built around the needs of patients and families, a system in which access will become better, faster and more coordinated, so parents can focus on being parents.

CHEO and the child and youth health organizations of the Kids Come First Health Team will work with families to figure out, together, how to better connect care for children and youth who receive home and school services with all the other health-care services they use — making it easier for families to get the right care, when and where they need it.
