As per the Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC): to ensure that the right systems, policies, and legislation contribute to the right care, at the right time, in the right place. This means ensuring that Indigenous peoples can exercise their inherent right to control their own health services.”

Kids Come First will respect “Culture as Treatment” approach and aim to provide kind and competent care and engage Indigenous organizations to provide culturally-safe care. We are fully committed to work with Indigenous partners towards fulfilling the Ministry of Health expectations outlined in Bill 74, The People’s Health Care Act as it relates to Indigenous health and continue meaningful engagement and consultation with Indigenous-led organizations, health leaders and communities in the region.
